And our standerdize tests are coming and sitting in a chair and write an essay or think about math wont be easy. I am incredably bright but I cant sit still. I am reading and it will help me with these tips. I have ADD and it cant focus in school unless i am in P.E. because I am going and going and not sittting on a chair.
Neither of us was really impressed with it and it didn't give us any ideas to try to help with distraction. I didn't really care for this book, nor did my son.
Need I say more. My 11 year old son, who never reads on his own, actually spent 20 minutes reading this book when it arrived.
My son loves it. at a child's level. It makes him feel normal. This book covers everything a parent would want to talk and teach a child with AD/HD. It covers even meds., coping skills, ect.
It talks about ADHD in a non-confronting way and has been an enormous help. Fantastic book for kids with ADHD/ ADD. She has become a little more settled since reading this book and I think she is starting to understand a bit more about why she behaves the way she does. My daughter carries it with her and quotes from it all the time. It has really helped in our household and I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is easy enough for kids to read and has loads of great chapters - Eating right, Ways to succeed at school, How to make and keep friends etc etc.
